A cozy space for slow living, homemaking, and wholehearted wellness.
From My Home to Yours
Hi, I’m Emily. I am a first-year teacher, a wife, and a homemaker. For years, I chased the perfect routine, the perfect home, and the idea of being the perfect woman. But each change I forced on myself only led to more exhaustion, more frustration, and even more fear. I didn’t know how to adjust to the new life I was building — and everything I tried felt like it just wasn’t working.
Eventually, I realized something important:
I had been living out other people’s routines, instead of creating one that worked for me. I was putting pressure on myself to live someone else’s version of “ideal,” instead of rooting into my own.
Now, I’m on a journey to build a softer, slower, more intentional life — one that’s true to who I am as a new teacher, a newlywed, a homemaker, and simply a woman doing her best.
Here at Soft & Rooted, you’ll find my honest reflections, gentle routines, and the real-life rhythms I’m discovering along the way. From realistic cleaning routines to slow mornings, from homemaking habits to health tips — this space is about growing gently, right where you are.

Currently August - Sometimes life feels full and a little chaotic, but I love pausing to notice the little things I’m currently enjoying. Simple Ways I Calm My Mind During Stressful Times - This Week Was Overwhelming for Me I was trying to set up my classroom, working late hours, trying to keep on top of my cleaning schedule, while showing up for my husband and family when they needed me. My phone kept ringing and I found myself saying yes to more things. Each day was a...Stay Rooted --- Get My Free Monthly Slow-Living Newsletter
